Thursday, April 8, 2010, Noon (Eastern): “Using PowerPoint Presentations to Educate, Inspire and Motivate Your Audience” with Cheryl McNeil of GC Learning Services LLC
Many businesspeople think of PowerPoint as a tool for just presenting information or content about a subject matter. They pick a template, add the text in paragraph or bulleted list format, and present. But what if you could organize the content and customize the slide in a way that presented more like a mini-movie, rather than a presentation; that inspired and motivated your audience towards a common goal; and even educated them on a topic with interactive activities? Join us on this date to find out the common mistakes businesspeople make when creating PowerPoint presentations, and how YOU can easily learn to educate, inspire and motivate YOUR audience.
GCLS works off of the principle that e-Learning should be focused on the Learner. From Concept to Assessment, the Learners’ needs should be most important, along with their knowledge-level and their individual job tasks. GC Learning Services designs and develops products such as CBT’s, Storyboards, Software Simulations, Tutorials, and e-Learning Modules. We also design and develop User Guides, Facilitator and Participant guides, Workbooks, Job aides, and Reference cards.

Tuesday, April 27, 2010, Noon (Eastern): Translating Strategy into Action: How to Measure and Communicate Performance" with Rebeka Mazzone, Accounting Management Solutions, Inc.
Rising competition and pricing pressures create an additional reason for organizations to communicate value to their audiences. All organizations struggle to optimize the link between money and mission. Traditionally, programmatic outcomes for nonprofits have been presented separately from financial information. This practice clouds the relationship between money and mission.
This presentation by Rebeka Mazzone, regional director at Accounting Management Solutions, Inc., a leading provider of outsourced financial support specifically for nonprofits, will discuss ways to present financial information in a method more easily understood by individuals without financial backgrounds. This will include the use of ratios and Balanced Scorecard. The Balanced Scorecard methodology helps provide a more comprehensive view of a business, encouraging progress towards defined goals and promoting efficient operations, which in turn helps organizations act in their own best long-term interests.
By the end of the session, participants will
understand what a Balanced Scorecard is;
be able to review mission and strategic plans, and translate them into financial and non-financial outcomes;
understand the types of outcome ratios;
be able to select and calculate meaningful ratios based on the performance outcomes desired; and
effectively present ratio information to management and Board members
